Morning Star UMC

The Children's Ministry teaches kids from 3 years of age through 5th grade about the amazing love God has for each of his children. During the summer we give our fabulous Sunday School teachers much deserved time off. Combined children's classes meet during the 9:45 am service. The nursery is open during all three services for infants up to age 4.

Throughout the year lots of fun events are held, including Trunk or Treat, Christmas Musical, Easter Egg Hunt, and Vacation Bible School.

The Morning Star Choir, under the direction of Lynda Smith, practices weekly from September through May, and sings regularly at the 11:15 worship service. The Choir also prepares a special musical presentation for the Advent season. The Choir meets every Wednesday evening from September through May.

The Morning Star Bell Choir, under the direction of Colleen Wismer, practices weekly and plays regularly on Sunday mornings and at special events. The Bell Choir meets Monday evenings September through May.

Morning Star Small Group ministries focus on Adult Christian Education (ACE). ACE is based on the conviction that learning is a life long pursuit that can be celebrated through fellowship and commitment to biblical scholarship. MSUMC Small Groups are designed around the principle of biblically based spiritual growth that engages the head and the heart.

Sunday specific courses meet at 9:45AM and 11:15AM. In addition several small group opportunities exist for all life stages.

Wednesday nights in the fall and spring offer R.O.A.D. (Regular Opportunities for Activities and Discipleship). Each R.O.A.D. night begins with a potluck dinner at 5:30 PM followed by a devotional at 6:15PM and small groups that meet for an hour beginning at 6:30 PM.

The Youth Group of Morning Star UMC, or FUSION, is a group made up of ages 6th grade through High School.The group meets Sundays at 11:15 am for Sunday School, and Sunday evenings from 4:30- 6:00 pm.

Christ Caring For People Through People Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-on-one caring relationships, those who are hurting, receive the love and support they need.

A Stephen Minister… Provides one-on-one Christian care to those going through difficult life situations; protects the confidentiality of their caring relationship; is a layperson with 50 hours of caring ministry training; and is trustworthy, compassionate, skilled, and full of faith.

A Stephen Minister is not… A mental health professional, a social worker, a casual visitor, or a pastor.
